NAH Parent Volunteer Hosts

We have several turnkey ready events that need a parent volunteer host.

For the 2017-2018 school year, we have the following opportunities available. Below is a list of opportunities and what your responsibilities would be.

SEPTEMBER 2017
- 8th 10am-12pm Field Trip Rim Trail #615 Hike & Picnic Lunch ***Host Needed***
The host for this activity would show up to the hike trailhead about 5-10 minutes early, and serve as the "host" by greeting/gathering homeschoolers. Wait about 10 minutes past the start of event to begin hike. You can lead the hike or ask if there is a volunteer family there that day that would like to lead. Everyone can eat their picnic's "tailgate style" at the conclusion of the hike. Thank everyone for coming. That's it!

OCTOBER 2017
- 27th 10am-12pm Trunk-or-Treat at Nikolaus Homestead Skate Park ***Host Needed***
The host for this activity would show up to the park about 5-10 minutes early to serve as the "host" by greeting/gathering families to park with trunks facing the sidewalk. Wait about 10 minutes until families have had a chance to arrive and "set-up" their trunks. Then call for children/teens to line-up at one end of the cars, and announce the start of the Trunk-or-Treat. Families can then stay and play after or head home. Thank everyone for coming. That's it!

DECEMBER 2017
- 15th 1pm-3pm Christmas Party & Ornament Exchange at Ponderosa Bowling Alley ***Host Needed***
BOWLING:
The host for this activity would call the bowling alley on Monday of that week, to notify them of our group coming. A good estimate is about 25 bowlers. show up to the bowling alley about 5-10 minutes early to serve as the "host" by greeting/gathering and getting a headcount of bowlers (parents can bowl too), so that you can split them up onto the lanes the bowling alley reserved for our party. Each family will get in line and get their own shoes. You can ask parents to help set-up children's names on computers. Let bowling attendant know of any trouble. Collect cash from bowlers and pay the bowling attendant at conclusion of our time (3p).
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT EXCHANGE:
While the parents are getting shoes, organizing the children into lanes, this would be a good time for you to gather the children to exchange their ornaments using the "left right elf" or other Christmas story passing game.
